Whether you want to accept it or not, we are all indoctrinated.

Indoctrination boiled to its core means “teaching; instruction.”

I’ve been reading a book and it defines and dissects the word “doctrine”.

Doctrine in Greek is δόγμα. It translates to dogma, tenet, denomination, creed, belief.

There is a reason the base word of doctrine is within the word “indoctrination”.

Simple questions for you.

What are you being taught?

What instruction do you follow?

What guides your life?

It can be easy to let certain beliefs infiltrate your mind, unnoticed.

Doing so is akin to drifting into an empty gaze when a speaker is giving a speech.

Does your life mimic such a behavior?

Do certain areas of your life have a feeling similar to unintentionally “gazing off”?

The reason I write this write-up is to emphasize the importance of being on guard.

Just like you wouldn’t let someone encroach your space and take everything you own....

you need not let doctrines that you don’t accept enter into and take up space within your mind.

To be strict on your beliefs is to have a high standard for the quality of life you want to live.

Whether you want to accept it or not, we are all indoctrinated.

Choose your indoctrination wisely.
