Growth Notes
I’ve never felt so clear about my future.
Yet, at the same time, the future is so unclear.
Isn’t that all of life.
The focus is to walk by faith, not by sight.
It’s easy for me type that in this Friday Foursight newsletter — walk by faith, not by sight — but much more demanding to enact.
Not demanding in the sense that you need to figure everything out all at once. No. Not that. But more demanding in that it demands more of the spiritual facet of your life.
Put that down for a moment and pick this up: you will be given circumstances in life that test your inner conviction on what you say you believe in.
It makes sense. If you believe in something, your belief in that something will be tested.
Through the past many years, I’ve set 10 main aims for myself for the future. One of them is: Grow Close to God, Increase my Faith, Build a Great Family, & Develop a 2nd-Nature Trait of Love Expression.
I wrote that down. I asked for that. I prayed on that.
Now, God is starting my 2024 with the gift of adversity and being immersed in deeper Bible study than ever before.
As the adage goes: be careful what you wish for, you just might get it. As much as I love laughing and having fun, that’s why I am so intensely focused, as well.
What we say and do, matters. It all contributes to the development of our individual character.

“This is hard. This is why I say it takes decades — I’m not saying it takes decades to execute, but the better part of a decade may be figuring out what you can uniquely provide.” — Excerpt From The Almanack of Naval Ravikant: A Guide to Wealth and Happiness by Eric Jorgenson // Naval talking about leveraging your uniqueness
“You remember that [Russian] expression: ‘trust but verify’? Well, he was trust. She was verify.” – Ronald Reagan’s favorite Russian phrase (p. 133, The Gatekeepers: How the White House Chiefs of Staff Define Every Presidency)
