Growth Notes
From Sunday to Wednesday, I drove 1,800 miles.
Halfway across the U.S.
I am visiting my family in NJ for Thanksgiving and Christmas and decided to make a first-time drive from TX to NJ.
Here are some things I observed and learned during my excursion:
Texas is even bigger than people think.
Virginia is beautiful, and quite large as well.
The private citizens of America are such resilient people — the respond to help those affected by Hurricane Helene in North Carolina was incredible to hear testimonies about.
Nashville, TN is a vibe. It has 2 stadiums within a 1-2 mile radius of the downtown. Each bar/restaurant has its own band playing live music.
“The United States has a total land area of about 2.26 billion acres.” Absolutely mind-boggling to drive across this country and realize such a stat is real.
The environment of a state reflects its people. Vice versa.
America is the greatest nation in the world. Period.
Quotes + More Quotes
“Adventure is just bad planning.” — Roald Amundsen
“While human judgement may err, true art requires a mind that is always focused.” — Leonardo da Vinci
“Everything I make is a diary entry. The beauty of a diary entry is that I can write my diary entry, and you can't tell me that it wasn't good enough or that's not what I experienced. Of course it's what I experienced. I'm writing a personal diary for myself. No one else can judge it. It is my experience of my life…” — Rick Rubin (from my friend Baxter’s new essay, Content-Life Balance)
A Few Favorite Links
A phenomenal listen. Marc is a wise man.
He totally exposed the government in this episode as well — and people on X are speaking out in great agreement regarding his specific point about American citizens being debanked for their political affiliations.
