Question For You
Growth Notes
I once heard this statement by Earl Nightingale: is what you are doing “goal achieving” or “tension relieving”?
Think about this deeply.
Every action we take is either “goal achieving or tension relieving”.
When you eat food or sleep at night, that is tension relieving.
When you accomplish a work task or complete a workout, that is goal achieving.
Structure your days with this in mind and you will see it all around you. It will be an inescapable truth that never leaves your mind.
As I write this, I look around the public room I’m in and see tension relieving and goal achieving activities.
Some are having conversations and eating brunch.
Others are staff members attending to those same people.
Others have headphones in while they flow in their writing activity.
The important thing about this polarity is to keep the balance. Too much goal achievement and no rest will run you dry. Too many tension relieving activities and you will be akin to a lazy sloth.
God bless,
Anthony

“It is not that we don’t know the right answers, it is just that we don’t ask the right questions.” — Tony Robbins
“Reports that say that something hasn't happened are always interesting to me, because as we know, there are known knowns; there are things we know we know. We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know. But there are also unknown unknowns—the ones we don't know we don't know. And if one looks throughout the history of our country and other free countries, it is the latter category that tends to be the difficult ones.” — Donald Rumsfeld

“I wish all who celebrate St. Patrick’s Day knew the true meaning of the holiday. It wasn’t established to celebrate leprechauns, the color green, or getting drunk. It was to honor and celebrate the life of a man who preached Christ throughout Ireland. His heart was focused on what matters most…”
"‘There are unknown unknowns’ is a phrase from a response United States Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld gave to a question at a U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) news briefing on February 12, 2002.
There is a ton of potency to this statement made by Rumsfeld.
