Growth Notes
To be consumed by the mission at hand, means you are suited for the mission.
The greatest stories were embodied by people who didn’t just observe the path or know the path, rather they became the path itself.
Matthew 16:24–26: “Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?’”
Naval Ravikant: "If you want to write a book, you must become the book."
When Wayne Gretzky was a kid, he would watch the entirety of hockey games and draw the exact path of the puck. As he got older, the game of hockey was his obsession. There is a reason that as of today, 24 seasons after retirement, he still holds or shares 57 NHL records.
The best athletes, artists, and figures went all in. There is no other way for the great.
If others are telling you to “take it easy”, “you’re so serious”, “you should take a break”, it means you are doing something right.
You must be willing to forsake it all for the thing at stake. This mostly applies to men since men have a mission and devote their life to that thing — until death do them part.
It’s better to be a warrior than to be a wimp. The greats love the path, while the rest don’t even know such a path exists.
God is calling.
Purpose is on the line.
Will you answer?
Have a great day on purpose,
Anthony
