Our life is full of connections.

They are either visible or invisible.

Whether we see them or not, they tie the lessons of our living together.

For example, I worked out everyday this week. On Wednesday, I didn’t feel like working out.

My body said no.

My mind said maybe.

My workout partners said let’s do this together — even if we don’t feel like it.

5 minutes after showing up at the gym, we started to gather a rhythm to our lift.

If all it takes is 5 minutes to get over the hump of a not-so-motivating-lifting-day, that’s not too bad.

This same connection of discipline can be found within business.

Each days difficulties are different.

Some days feel like climbing a mountain.

Other days feel like steering a ship in a stormy ocean evening.

Yet, the willingness to show up is the marginal difference between success and failure.

Motivation fades.

Discipline endures.
