This was the second weekend this year that I was at a private event with a 50+ plus zillionaires, entrepreneurs, and business operators.

It was quite humbling to be in such a room.

But here are the important things I thought to myself: (1) I’m in this room for a reason — doesn’t matter how I got here (2) these people are no better than me, they simply have more years under their belt than me.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to have been at this event in Austin, TX.

Also, on the note of being well-off, there is one thing that is best to be well-off in: obsession.

When I was waiting at my gate in the Austin airport today, I took a moment to observe the planes directly within my gaze.

After a long moment of starring at the horizon, it wasn’t just the horizon that hooked my attention, it was a pilot walking around the ground-level of a plane wearing a yellow vest with “PILOT” on the back.

I was amazed at this pilots diligence. He was checking every crevice of the plane, at every angle possible. He walked around the wings of the plane, the rear, and the front. I’m not sure if it is a regulatory requirement of all pilots to conduct pre-flight diligence like this. Nonetheless, it imprinted an impression on my mind.

So, as I write this now, I think about being obsessed with my craft, so much so that it drives me to the edge of craziness.

I truly love obsessed people.

Just like Vince Lombardi, when he mastered the sweep option by using that as his only offensive play call his entire career.

Repetition, repetition, repetition, improvement, improvement, improvement. Repeat.

There is a direct correlation between the people I was with this weekend and the art of obsession.

Crazy, unparalleled results require crazy, unparalleled effort.

Be like that pilot.

Be like Vince Lombardi.

Be obsessed — in a good way.

These monks are next level: Praying 24/7, being put under Hitler’s personal protection during WWII, growing their own food, eating lunch for 10 min, eating dinner for 10 mins, lots of walking, same daily routine, 8-hour mass services, ach monk has a speciality — i.e one helps maintain electricity on the village.

This is not a vacation spot. Mt. Athos is a spiritual battle and the primary weapons are prayer, fasting, and faith.

Predicting it now: this will make Gary a billionaire and accelerate him to owning the Jets.

Guy is thinking in decades. Amazing to think that he raised a $50M SEED ROUNDDDD for VeeFriends in 2022. Amazing.
