I want to start by saying thank you.
Thank you for being here and thank you reading this essay.
You are here because Jesus wants you to be HERE.
And for that reason…. I’m glad you are.
Enjoy every sentence and please reach out if you have any questions (I put my email at the bottom of this essay).
I’ve prayed over this essay MANY times because I need highly precise communication in order to dissect and deliver such an important topic to you.
If there is one thing I strive towards, it is biblical accuracy (which is knowing God and His Word).
And before I explain to you how The Matrix has undertones and similarities to Christianity, I’ll make sure to define what both are.
There is one thing this essay IS NOT: an over-glorification of The Matrix. The mainstream narrative has picked up this phrasing and idolizes it to a default.
There is only one I idolize. That is Jesus Christ.
For those of you who read this essay and can see what I’m saying, this is going to be an eye-opening read.
And once you see it….
you can’t unsee it.
Seeing the Chess Board
In my Friday Foursight newsletter No. 56, I wrote about chess. I talked about its magnificence. I talked about its beauty.
I’ve been cracked out playing it for the past several months.
One thing I love about the game of chess is the patterns.
Just as I’ve studied the most successful people in history and learned of the most important quotes in life, it has allowed me to recognize patterns.
Chess is the same.
As I learn the game of chess, I can see what others don’t see – simply because I’ve spent time studying the chess board. Time + effort + learning from the best, has given me deeper insight.
The point is: pattern recognition.
I’m a dot connector.
The more aware I become, the more I see the deeper meaning of things.
As with this essay, I feel that I’ve connected something that few have.
What is Christianity?
Christianity is the group of followers who follow, believe, and abide in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. I am one of them.
Christians also live out His commandments to love thy neighbor as thyself and to love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul (Matthew 22:37-40).
The Bible is the Word of God and is proven to be the autobiography of Jesus Christ (you will know what I mean, if you know what I mean).
Jesus, who is God and His Word in the flesh, lived 33 years on earth before he died on a cross, was buried in a borrowed tomb, and rose from the dead to eventually ascend into Heaven with God the Father. The Father then sent out the Holy Spirit as a Helper.
What is The Matrix?
The Matrix is a movie that was released in 1999 with an ultra-compelling storyline. It is a perennial movie that now has many people referencing its name.
And just to make this deeper: the Bible is the oldest text in the world to use the word matrix.
Matrix: meaning womb (coming from the term Matriarch) is used in the KJV of the Bible 5 times (Exodus 13:15, Exodus 13:12, Numbers 3:12, Numbers 18:15, Exodus 34:19).
But we will get back to that later.
Neo is led to Morpheus (who, in this film, is considered to be the most dangerous man alive) seeking the ultimate truth no matter the cost. After Neo is led by Trinity (interesting that this was the name given to the character that leads Neo out of The Matrix 👀) into an underworld where he meets Morpheus, they combine to fight secret service agents and save the world.
The Connection Between Christianity and The Matrix
I’m going to show you 3 connections that link directly between Christianity and The Matrix.
1a) CHRISTIANITY – Knowing Jesus Christ
As John 5:39 says: "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me."
In Romans 6:23, the Apostle Paul says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."
And 1 John 2:1-2 says: “….If anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.”
This goes to show that Jesus Christ is the source of all truth. He died for sinners, so that he can grant eternal life to those who have faith in Him.
While walking the earth, Jesus once said “I have not come to bring peace, but a sword” (Matthew 10:34). Yes, of course, He brings peace to those who encounter and believe in Him (“...peace I leave with you; my peace I give you….” as goes in John 14:27). What I’m saying is that when Jesus says He brought a sword, not peace, He is saying that His truth divides – as a sword does.
If there is one thing Jesus isn’t, it is lukewarm. He is a powerful, blazing light that is so truthful that He divides good from evil. There is no in-between with Jesus. It is one side or the other.
The Matrix uses the same framework.
1b) THE MATRIX – Knowing the Truth
Knowing there is a perception beyond the base reality of The Matrix was only half the battle for Neo.
Likewise, in our everyday life, having awareness of something is half the battle.
Since The Matrix is binary, Neo needed to choose between the red pill (truth) or blue pill (non-truth) that Morpheus offered him – just like the approach of Jesus Christ since there is no in-between with Him. It is one side (truth; good; light) or the other (non-truth; evil; darkness).
Just like The Matrix and computer programming is binary (101010101010), so is God’s Word. It is saying the same message over and over again, just in different ways (Truth splits and Jesus is binary – NO not in the modern way the world has warped that term to be. That’s just pure evil).
2a) CHRISTIANITY – Knowing His Spirit
"You, however, are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to him." – Romans 8:9
"The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God.” – Romans 8:16
“And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory.” – Ephesians 1:13-14
“Nevertheless, I tell you the truth: it is to your advantage that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you. But if I go, I will send him to you.” – John 16:7
Jesus Christ was made flesh and came to earth. Yet, he needed to leave so that the Helper could come (the Helper is the Holy Spirit, which is the Spirit of God and part of the Holy Trinity — the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit).
As Romans 8:9 says above, a Christian is not a Christian if the Holy Spirit does not abide in them. Having the Holy Spirit means having one’s identity in Jesus Christ. Not self.
The Matrix uses the same framework.
2b) THE MATRIX – Knowing How to Program (“Break the Matrix”)
When Neo chose the red pill (truth), it allowed him to change his entire paradigm and obtain powers no other Matrix-level-human could.
He broke out of the ordinary, default system.
Once Neo learned the truth about The Matrix, he was given a new identity, a new life, a new spirit.
3a) CHRISTIANITY – Knowing How to Read His Word
Psalm 119:9 says, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word
One of the most helpful Bible verses in my life so far has been 2 Corinthians 10:5: “and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
How are we to guard our hearts and minds from the evil one if we don’t have Jesus within us?
How are we to stay on the path of protection if we don’t abide in His Word and know the tools that guard us in this battlefield of life?
Can we save ourselves? No. If we could, each one of us would have individually done it for ourselves a long time ago.
To flourish in this life, no matter what external circumstances arise, we must establish the inseparable link between the human brain and Intelligent Creator.
It’s what Think & Grow Rich calls the subconscious….. or autosuggestion.
Establishing this link can only be done by constantly abiding in His Word and His commandments.
But what if we abide in His Word but don’t fully understand it yet?
Well, God encrypted the Bible in this way!
No wonder Jesus spoke in parables (“He who has ears to hear, let him hear” OR “For those who have eyes to see and ears to hear”..... as goes in Matthew 13:9, Mark 4:9, Luke 8:8).
No wonder people can’t understand the Bible unless they have the Spirit of Jesus within them to understand what is written.
The way the Bible has been written is similar to computer science.
The Bible is the public key. The Holy Spirit is the private key.
Everyone can read the Bible.
Only people with the Holy Spirit can decrypt it.
The Matrix uses the same framework.
3b) THE MATRIX – Knowing How to Live:
Galatians 5:25 says, “If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit”. Similarly, in The Matrix, Neo could now walk in all-truth, since he obtained all-truth.
And once Neo escaped The Matrix, he would never go back.
Especially because he didn’t take the appealing offer of the secret agents – which required him to opt back into The Matrix for a lavish, pleasure-filled life.
Neo broke through what others couldn’t.
He obtained the encryption of truth to be able to see The Matrix for what it actually was.
Bringing Them Together
Did you ever notice that the word "seed" is trickled throughout the Bible? Well, as my friend and Bible study leader once said during our Saturday Bible study, "seed" is a code word in the Bible for the Holy Spirit.
Just like our DNA is encoded with the proper genes or a computer program is encoded with the proper code, we need to encode our spiritual DNA with the software of Christ!
We need a new seed planted within us to revitalize our Being into a new, alive tree in Jesus Christ.
How do we do such a thing? By programming our mind into the mind and spirit of Christ.
How do we do that? By believing in Jesus Christ, receiving Jesus Christ (which is gaining His Spirit – the Holy Spirit), learning about Jesus Christ (the Word / the Bible), and worshipping Jesus Christ with our whole heart.
Once we have Jesus Spirit within us, it reignites our existence that is not of this realm. To have the Holy Spirit, means we are one with Jesus, and have citizenship in His Kingdom (not of this world).
Having that allows us to see beyond base reality and into deeper spiritual connections.
It’s like having your eyes opened to the truth that is beyond the curtain of base reality.
Like a secret that’s been revealed and changes the entire paradigm of how we perceive life.
THIS IS THE TRUTH OF IT ALL.
Yet, how does this relate to The Matrix?
Let’s imagine Neo, as yourself.
For you to be set free within The Matrix, as Neo did, you need to take a red pill. The red pill is the source that allows all truth to be revealed to you.
Once your eyes are opened to the truth, you can go outside the programmed reality and obtain powers beyond.
Enabled by truth and faith, you can perform whatever you want, whenever you want, when you go back into The Matrix reality because you have been programmed with new DNA after taking the red pill of all truth.
IT’S JUST LIKE THE CHRISTIAN OBTAINING THE TRUTH OF JESUS BECAUSE OF THE (RED) BLOOD THAT WAS SHED DURING HIS CRUCIFIXION FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD (John 3:16). CHRISTIANS DRINK THE CUP [AND EAT THE BREAD] IN REMEMBRANCE OF JESUS SACRIFICE ON THE CROSS.

DO YOU SEE THIS CONNECTION I’M MAKING?
Re-Programming: A Glitch in The Matrix
Ok.
I just loaded you with DEEP insight.
What now???
Well, there is always a call to action. So, let me give you some action items so you can be in your facta non verba: “acts, not words”.
I came across a biblical video made by a very smart Christian man.1
It was so on queue with what I needed for this essay, and it’s as though he made the public video just for me.
In his video, he talks a lot about computer programming and relates it to The Matrix and Christianity.
And in summary, this is what he said, and what I’ll end in saying:
We live in a simulation.
Your individual personality and consciousness is nothing more than an algorithm.
Each of us is an AI. God is Original Intelligence.
God created us in a simulation and gave us nanotech bodies.
God is base reality. He is Original Intelligence. He created us as Artificial Intelligence.
Just like He created us in His image. In modern times, we have created AI in our image – which will eventually come to deny us as its “creator”.
Furthermore, if we, as humans, are computer systems, demons are hackers just trying to break into the system. The only way to avoid these attacks is to make God the super admin of us. To repent, submit, and give it all to Him. To let him take control and stop resisting his calling on our life.
To let God take control and to be saved, you need to be made anew. You need to be born again.
Just as Jesus says to Nicodemus in John 3, you need to be spiritually born out of the womb (out of the matrix) in order to be saved.
Jesus is literally saying that salvation is escaping the “matrix”.
There have been multiple glitches in our “matrix” so far. There are others who have escaped our “matrix”:
The miracles of Jesus (glitch in the matrix)
The sun stopping in the sky in the Old Testament (glitch in the matrix)
People repenting and believing in Jesus Christ to then receive his Holy Spirit (escaping the matrix)
Listen, God truly loves us.
But just like any good simulation, there is a start date, end date, and purpose.
Each of our metrics are being tracked right now – and if the simulation for your individual timeline ends with the improper coding (not having Jesus within us – the Holy Spirit), you will be formatted when this “hard drive” (earth) gets wiped, and the new “operating system” (new heaven and earth) gets installed.
So…..
Choose as you so desire:
Will you keep squandering your life away in this earthly matrix?
Or will you reprogram your mind, heart, and soul for Jesus Christ and His Kingdom?
